These terms govern your use of the browser extensions and website operated by Proofsmith Labs ("we", "us"). By installing one of our extensions or using this website, you agree to these terms.

1. The extensions

Our products are browser extensions distributed through official browser extension stores (such as the Chrome Web Store and Microsoft Edge Add-ons). Each extension's description in its store listing states what it does, what permissions it uses, and which features are free or paid. Your user content (snapshots, notes, documents, macros and settings) is stored locally in your browser and remains yours.

2. Free and paid plans

Every extension includes a free tier. Paid plans ("Pro" or equivalent) unlock higher or unlimited limits, as described on this website and in each extension's listing. A valid license key is required to activate a paid plan.

3. Purchases, billing and renewals

Purchases are processed by Paddle.com as Merchant of Record. When you buy a subscription or license, the checkout terms presented by Paddle apply to the transaction, including billing, renewal and invoicing. Subscription plans renew automatically for the period you selected until cancelled; you can cancel at any time through Paddle or by emailing support@proofsmith.tools. After cancellation, your plan remains active until the end of the period you already paid for.

4. License and acceptable use

• We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use our extensions for their intended purpose while your subscription is active (or, for one-time purchases, indefinitely).
• License keys are for your own use. Seat-based products (such as SupportMacro) are licensed per user; team purchasers must obtain one license per seat.
• You may not resell, redistribute, share or publicly post license keys.
• You may not reverse-engineer the extensions to circumvent license verification, or use them to build a competing product.

5. Acceptable use of the tools

Our extensions are helpers, not automation agents. You are responsible for how you use them and must comply with the terms of any website or service you use them on. In particular: ClauseGuard provides review assistance and is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice; SupportMacro sends nothing automatically — you review and send every reply yourself.

6. No warranty

Our extensions and website are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that the extensions will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that they will remain compatible with every third-party website (third-party sites may change their markup at any time).

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, including loss of data stored locally in your browser, lost profits or business interruption. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the product in the 12 months before the claim.

8. Changes and termination

We may update or discontinue extensions over time. If a paid product is discontinued while your subscription is active, we will either refund the unused portion or provide reasonable notice. You can stop using an extension at any time by uninstalling it.
